Five years ago, I was considering leaving my marriage. Familia taught me so much about my faith and living my vocation as a wife and mother. My marriage is strong now. So much has changed in my life. Thanks Familia!
The benefits have been so numerous I can hardly name them all, but probably the most profound is an even deeper love for my husband and children, the church and its teachings.
Familia has meant stability, stimulation, and support — stability in marriage, stimulating discussion at my meetings and with my husband after the meetings about what it means to be a Catholic, and support from other mothers of young children who are practicing the faith and passing it on to their children in their domestic church.
Familia helps to develop fellowship among the faithful of the parish, a fellowship not based on the Secular and social but one rooted in Jesus Christ and His Church. We have had it for only one year so far, and I see it building a great foundation in my parish. I will have a large number of men and women who know the truth and are supporting one another in striving to live the truth. I expect to see much more fruit as time goes.
As my Familia Family Life Team discussed the deep issues of Catholic family living, Familia brought out the very best in us. Being able to discuss the somewhat delicate aspects of faith with others on the same path became a tool for strengthening all our families and marriages.
Through dynamic group discussions on relevant topics, participants discover the message of authentic love, in their vocation to marriage and through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The personalized training and follow-up that Familia offers to parish leaders equips them to guide discussions and mentor participants, achieving positive transformation in their families and greater involvement in parish life.
I realized I have been far to focused on financial aspects of our family rather than developing my spiritual life and that of my kids.
Just a quick note of thanks to Familia. It has literally 'changed my life.' The personal attention given by the Familia trainers, and the charity and knowledgeable delivery of information makes Familia the best part of my day. It gives me the strength to get through the rest of my 'to do' list in the afternoon. I just wanted to let you know how much I (and I'm sure many other women) are positively affected by Familia on a daily basis.
Familia has helped me to gain a deeper appreciation for my marriage and family life. I have been given the tools to be the husband and father that Christ is asking me to be.
Five years ago, I was considering leaving my marriage. My faith was only a seed that had never been watered. Familia taught me so much about my faith and living my vocation as a wife and mother. My marriage is strong now. So much has changed in my life, my family! I thank the Lord for the gift of this apostolate.
What has truly been a revelation and joy is the opportunity to share the faith with like-minded Catholic men on a regular basis, being built up by them, and hopefully forming lasting friendships. In the end, we have reflected on what Sacred Tradition has to say about Christ, the interpretations of the Church He founded.
Familia emphasized the idea that faith in Christ must be an integral part of my every thought, word and action. I would recommend Familia to anyone. It is amazing how such a simple program can make such a difference!
Through Familia my family has become more involved in our church. We grew more prayerful, more charitable, more loving. I have fallen in love with the Catholic Church. Thank you, Father, for offering this in our parish.
